چکیده

Abstract There is significant enthusiasm to apply artificial intelligence (AI) in dermatology with an emphasis on image-based analyses for risk assessment of suspicious skin lesions. However, the rapid development and deployment such AI tools raises concerns that ethical issues arising from their widespread, long-term use may not have been adequately considered during design or implementation. Dermatology, particular, has identified as lacking sufficient bioethics research could standardize approach regulating AI-assisted applications. Despite efforts develop robust guidelines ‘ethical AI’ across private, national international organizations, debate continues surrounding which principles should be included. The 2022 National Strategy positions UK leading global toward achieving safe AI. We sought systematically review analyse policy documents map promoting applied dermatology. Our five relevant published between 2016 2022. All included frameworks highlighted importance upholding transparency fairness along entire lifecycle decision-making. also incorporated autonomy through reference maintaining informed consent, data privacy human contestability decisions. accountability nonmaleficence were each four documents, emphasizing needs clear definitions legal organizational responsibility thorough testing avoid unintended/unwanted outcomes. beneficence (designing promote good both individual societal levels) sustainability (continually monitoring adjusting longevity efficacy) two documents. Current converge around key values: fairness, transparency, autonomy, accountability. advanced, although less frequently highlighted. a reassuring level convergence practical implementation these health care particularly skin-specific remains unclear. Furthermore, evidence real-world integration into developing AI-based cancer diagnostic lacking. Future work seeks address this gap by analysing commercially available applications using predefined themes identify case-specific evaluate extent are addressed within existing frameworks. This will provide guidance developers adopters tools, ensuring responsible deployment.

Moral Decision Making Frameworks for Artificial Intelligence

The generality of decision and game theory has enabled domain-independent progress in AI research. For example, a better algorithm for finding good policies in (PO)MDPs can be instantly used in a variety of applications. But such a general theory is lacking when it comes to moral decision making. For AI applications with a moral component, are we then forced to build systems based on many ad-ho...

This paper describes Steve, an animated agent that helps students learn to perform physical, procedural tasks. The student and Steve cohabit a three-dimensional, simulated mock-up of the student's work environment. Steve can demonstrate how to perform tasks and can also monitor students while they practice tasks, providing assistance when needed. This paper describes Steve's architecture in det...

Artificial Intelligence Techniques applied to Biomedical Patterns

Pattern recognition is the research area of Artificial Intelligence that studies the operation and design of systems that recognize patterns in the data. Important application areas are image analysis, character recognition, fingerprint classification, speech analysis, DNA sequence identification, man and machine diagnostics, person identification and industrial inspection. The interest in impr...

Contributions to Artificial Intelligence Techniques Applied

ACNOWLEDGMENTS Through these lines, I would like to express my gratitude to those who, during all this time, contributed in one way or the other so that this thesis comes to reality. To Professor Severin Bumbaru, the supervisor of this work, an example not only of abnegation and passion for research and teaching, but also an example of living. To Professor José Sá da Costa, the supervisor of my...
